Its been more than half a year since i posted something on this blog, reason is because i thought that its pointless to keep writing as I could better utilize my time on better activities like studying.
However, just yesterday I was on YouTube and decided to move my cursor to 'TED talks' and from that channel I came across this video: "The Discipline of Finishing- Conor Niell' .
His video was beyond inspiring, with his excellent presentation and fluent thoughts he is able to elegantly and informatively show us the important points that he was making, the 3 key important ingredient of success in perspective of Warren Buffett-
2: Energy- Health & bias to action, people who don't get late often, people who would get a cold and get back to work tomorrow because they recover quick, they sleep well. Next, people who have tendency of taking the action over thinking of taking the action, energy is about vitality & bias to action.
3: Intelligence- not chess intelligence, business school intelligence , not sitting in a room for four years designing a strategy intelligence, he's talking about adaptive intelligence; when you're running down the street and a lamp post is coming towards you, you see the pattern, you see the lamp post coming and change the course in time instead of taking it in the forehead and take the blow in the shoulder and keep moving.
1..... without 1... = will be a danger to yourself, family & society..Warren Buffett number 1's criteria: Integrity- saying No to most things, its really about an alignment between what your calendar says you do and what you say you do. If you say Yes to most requests and you can't think of a time you said No in a last day in a last week, your life is divided into thousand of little pieces in spread amongst the priority of other people. So to live an integral life, to live a life true to your own value means you say No very often.
You should work very hard to maximize these 3 criteria.
The tool for intelligence:
Write stuff down. If you write down ideas you had today, if you write down the people you met, describe things that are going on, 6 months from now you won't be the intelligence of one moment, you will be the accumulated intelligence of 6 months of ideas, 6 months of things written down, 6 months of peoples' quotes. Start writing down your life. Its the most valuable resource, your own life. That so few people take the time to document this.
Just based on that fact, that very statement , that very tool, I have decided that its time I start getting my fingers on the keyboard to type things out on my blog, to remember what happened in my life, the mistakes that have been done so as to not repeat them again and amend the habits which are not helping me in my life. For the other 2 tools, you can easily look up on his video if you're interested :)
For now I shall end this page with his quote : "The coherence between your diary and your values is where integrity begins, and its kind of horrific when you start to count, when you start to look, and start to become aware of where your times goes. So little of my time really goes to the things that I know and I mean to do, so often times i sleep off into Facebook and what is supposed to be a minute is an hour and then lunch comes. But those minutes, once you start to get the minutes dedicated to the things that matter. There's hundreds of little decisions minute after minute, day after day that all sum up, And success in life is not one massive good decision, and failure is not one poor decision, failure is repeated bad decision, success is repeated, consistent good habits. We so underestimate what we can achieve in a year and so overestimate what we can achieve in a day. A page a day you have a book in a year. You'll never write a book in a day."
